  1. Serve as the first point of contact for patients seeking care in the Pulmonology & Sleep specialties.
  2. Greet patients and visitors in a friendly and professional manner.
  3. Schedule appointments and maintain accurate patient records.
  4. Facilitate communication between patients and medical staff.
  5. Verify insurance coverage and obtain necessary authorizations.
  6. Collect and process patient payments.
  7. Provide exceptional customer service to ensure a positive patient experience.
  8. Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the reception area.
  9. Collaborate with other team members to ensure efficient and effective patient care.
  10. Adhere to HIPAA and other confidentiality guidelines.
  11. Continuously strive to improve patient satisfaction and quality of care.
  12. Stay up-to-date on the latest developments and advancements in Pulmonology & Sleep specialties.
  13. Attend trainings and meetings to learn and implement new processes and procedures.
  14. Act as a liaison between patients and healthcare providers.
  15. Handle patient inquiries, complaints, and resolve issues in a timely and professional manner.

Job Qualifications
  • Excellent Communication Skills: As A Patient Service Representative In The Pulmonology & Sleep Department, Effective Communication Is Crucial For Interacting With Patients, Physicians, And Other Healthcare Professionals. This Includes Strong Verbal And Written Communication Skills, As Well As Active Listening Abilities.

  • Knowledge Of Pulmonology & Sleep Medicine: A Deep Understanding Of The Field Of Pulmonology & Sleep Medicine Is Essential For This Role. This Includes Knowledge Of Common Conditions, Treatment Options, And Terminology Used In The Field.

  • Organizational Skills: Patient Service Representatives Are Responsible For Managing Multiple Tasks And Priorities Throughout The Day. Strong Organizational Skills Are Necessary To Keep Track Of Patient Appointments, Medical Records, And Other Important Information.

  • Customer Service Experience: Mercy Places A Strong Emphasis On Providing Exceptional Customer Service To Patients. Previous Experience In A Customer-Facing Role, Such As A Receptionist Or Customer Service Representative, Is Highly Desirable For This Position.

  • Empathy And Compassion: Patients Seeking Treatment In The Pulmonology & Sleep Department May Be Dealing With Serious Or Chronic Conditions. The Ideal Candidate For This Role Should Possess Empathy And Compassion, As Well As The Ability To Maintain A Calm And Caring Demeanor In All Interactions With Patients And Their Families.
