Job Description

Mercy is seeking a Patient Care Technician (PCT) to join our team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about providing top-notch patient care and have a positive attitude. We believe that providing a high level of compassionate care is a cornerstone of our success, and we’re looking for someone who shares this same belief.The successful PCT will be required to possess a minimum of a high school diploma or GED and have a current and valid certification as a nursing assistant in the state of Missouri. In addition, experience in caring for patients is preferred, as is the willingness to learn new skills and attend continuing education programs. We are also looking for someone with excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.If you believe you have the qualifications and experience to excel in this role, and you share our passion for providing the highest quality of care to our patients, we want to hear from you.

Responsibilities of a Patient Care Technician:

  1. Assist with patient care, including taking vital signs, administering medications, and assisting with personal hygiene.
  2. Provide compassionate care for patients, understanding their individual needs and delivering high-quality care.
  3. Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records.
  4. Follow all safety and infection control guidelines.
  5. Adhere to all relevant laws and regulations.
  6. Monitor patients for signs of distress and provide prompt medical attention when needed.
  7. Communicate effectively with patients, family members, and other healthcare professionals.
  8. Participate in continuing education programs to stay up to date on the latest developments in the field.
  9. Assist in the development and implementation of patient care plans.
  10. Assist in the preparation and stocking of medical supplies.
