Job Description

Mercy is seeking an experienced, compassionate, and driven Patient Care Technician (PCT) to join our team and provide quality patient care. Our ideal candidate will be a self-starter with a strong sense of patient advocacy, excellent communication skills, and a dedication to ensuring the highest standards of patient care.Minimum qualifications for this position include a high school diploma or GED; 1-2 years of experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in a hospital; and current certification as a nursing assistant or patient care technician. Successful candidates must also demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively with patients and other healthcare professionals, provide emotional support, and follow best practices for infection control.We are looking for a team-oriented individual who is passionate about providing exceptional care and is willing to go the extra mile to ensure patients have a positive experience. Responsibilities:

  1. Provide compassionate patient care in accordance with established protocols and standards of practice.
  2. Communicate effectively with patients, family members, and other healthcare professionals.
  3. Assist with the delivery of quality patient care services, including taking vital signs, providing wound care, and administering medications.
  4. Assist in the administration of treatments and procedures as directed by the RN or physician.
  5. Maintain patient records and document patient care activities.
  6. Assist with patient transfers and ambulation.
  7. Ensure a clean and safe environment is maintained.
  8. Follow all infection control protocols.
  9. Participate in patient and family education.
  10. Attend staff meetings and in-service training as required.
