
Patient Care Technician (PCT)
Mercy is seeking an experienced Patient Care Technician (PCT) to join our dynamic and passionate team. Our ideal candidate is a compassionate and organized healthcare professional who will provide top notch patient care. The PCT will be responsible for providing direct patient care, maintaining clinical records, and assisting healthcare professionals with day-to-day activities in a fast-paced environment.The successful candidate should have a professional demeanor, strong communication and organizational skills, and a desire to help patients and families in need. The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 1 year of experience working in a healthcare setting, a High School Diploma or GED, and a current CPR/BLS certification. In addition, experience with medical terminology, computer systems, and knowledge of medical and laboratory procedures is a plus. We are looking for a dedicated PCT who is committed to providing high quality care and exceptional customer service to our patients. Responsibilities:
- Provide direct patient care, including taking vital signs, administering medications, collecting samples, and monitoring patient health.
- Assist healthcare professionals with day-to-day activities in a fast-paced environment.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date clinical records.
- Answer patient phone calls and respond to inquiries.
- Assist with patient admissions and discharges, including preparing rooms and gathering patient information.
- Ensure the safety and comfort of patients and families.
- Monitor and restock medical and laboratory supplies.
- Follow all safety protocols and infection control guidelines.
- Adhere to HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality.
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with patients and families.
