- Provide compassionate and quality care to all patients, following Mercy's mission and values.
- Assist patients with daily tasks such as bathing, dressing, and personal hygiene.
- Monitor and record vital signs and report any changes or concerns to the medical team.
- Help patients with mobility and transferring to and from beds, chairs, and other equipment.
- Ensure patients are comfortable and address any discomfort or pain they may be experiencing.
- Assist with meal preparation and feeding if necessary.
- Communicate effectively with patients and their families, providing emotional support and addressing any questions or concerns.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients, including changing linens and keeping rooms organized.
- Adhere to all safety and infection control protocols and procedures.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive and coordinated care for patients.
- Attend and participate in team meetings and trainings to stay updated on best practices and protocols.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of patient care activities.
- Serve as a patient advocate, promoting their rights and ensuring their needs are met.
- Stay calm and professional in emergency situations and follow proper protocols.
- Continuously strive to improve the quality of care provided to patients.
High School Diploma Or Equivalent: A Minimum Of A High School Diploma Or Ged Is Required For This Position. This Ensures That The Candidate Has A Basic Level Of Education And Is Able To Understand And Follow Instructions.
Certified Nursing Assistant (Cna) Certification: Many Healthcare Facilities, Including Mercy, Require Pcas To Have A Cna Certification. This Certification Ensures That The Candidate Has Received Proper Training And Has The Necessary Skills To Provide Basic Patient Care.
Previous Experience In A Healthcare Setting: While Not Always Required, Having Previous Experience In A Healthcare Setting Can Be Beneficial For A Pca Position At Mercy. This Shows That The Candidate Has A Basic Understanding Of The Healthcare Industry And Is Familiar With Patient Care Procedures.
