  1. Greet and welcome patients in a friendly, professional manner.
  2. Provide exceptional customer service by addressing patient inquiries and concerns in a timely and courteous manner.
  3. Schedule appointments and verify patient information accurately and efficiently.
  4. Collect and process patient payments and insurance information according to company policies.
  5. Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
  6. Collaborate with healthcare providers and other staff members to ensure a smooth and efficient patient flow.
  7. Demonstrate a thorough understanding of insurance policies and procedures to assist patients with billing questions and concerns.
  8. Accurately enter and update patient information in the electronic medical records system.
  9. Adhere to company protocols and guidelines to ensure the safety and security of all patients and staff.
  10. Continuously strive to improve and maintain a high level of patient satisfaction.
  11. Participate in ongoing training and development to stay current with industry changes and advancements.
  12. Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  13. Assist with other administrative tasks and projects as needed.
  14. Act as a positive ambassador for Mercy and our mission to provide compassionate healthcare to our community.

Job Qualifications
  • Excellent Communication Skills: A Patient Access Representative At Mercy Must Possess Strong Verbal And Written Communication Skills To Effectively Interact With Patients, Physicians, And Other Healthcare Professionals.

  • Proficiency In Electronic Medical Records (Emr) Systems: The Ability To Navigate And Accurately Enter Patient Information Into Emr Systems Is Essential For Maintaining Accurate And Up-To-Date Medical Records.

  • Customer Service Experience: As The First Point Of Contact For Patients, A Patient Access Representative Must Have Experience Providing Exceptional Customer Service And Be Able To Handle Difficult Situations With Professionalism And Empathy.

  • Knowledge Of Insurance And Billing Processes: Familiarity With Insurance Plans, Billing Procedures, And Medical Terminology Is Necessary To Assist Patients With Understanding Their Coverage And Financial Responsibilities.

  • Attention To Detail: With A High Volume Of Patient Interactions And Paperwork, A Patient Access Representative Must Have Strong Attention To Detail To Ensure Accuracy And Efficiency In All Aspects Of Their Job Duties.
