  1. Administer emergency medical care to patients in need, including assessing their condition, providing necessary treatment, and transporting them to appropriate medical facilities.
  2. Work collaboratively with other medical professionals, including doctors and nurses, to provide efficient and effective care to patients.
  3. Keep accurate and detailed records of patient care, including documenting patient information, treatment provided, and any medications administered.
  4. Maintain and regularly check equipment and supplies to ensure they are functioning properly and stocked adequately for emergencies.
  5. Remain calm and composed in high-stress situations, utilizing critical thinking skills to make quick and accurate decisions.
  6. Communicate effectively with patients, their families, and other medical staff to provide updates on patient conditions and address any concerns or questions.
  7. Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure the well-being of patients and staff.
  8. Continuously seek out opportunities for professional development and stay up-to-date on current medical practices and procedures.
  9. Participate in team meetings and training sessions to improve skills and share knowledge with colleagues.
  10. Demonstrate compassion and empathy towards patients and their families, providing emotional support and reassurance during difficult situations.

Job Qualifications
  • Valid Paramedic Certification: Candidates For A Paramedic Job At Mercy Must Possess A Valid Certification As A Paramedic From An Accredited Institution.

  • Relevant Work Experience: Mercy Prefers Candidates With Prior Experience As A Paramedic, Either In A Hospital Setting Or With An Ambulance Service. This Experience Should Demonstrate The Candidate's Ability To Handle Emergency Situations And Provide Effective Patient Care.

  • Knowledge Of Medical Procedures And Equipment: Candidates Should Have A Thorough Understanding Of Medical Procedures And Equipment Commonly Used In Emergency Care, Including Intubation, Defibrillation, And Administering Medication.

  • Strong Communication Skills: As A Paramedic At Mercy, Effective Communication Is Essential In Conveying Important Information To Patients, Their Families, And Other Healthcare Professionals. Candidates Should Possess Strong Verbal And Written Communication Skills.

  • Ability To Work Well Under Pressure: Mercy's Paramedics Often Work In High-Stress And Fast-Paced Environments, Responding To Emergencies And Providing Critical Care To Patients. Candidates Should Be Able To Remain Calm And Focused Under Pressure And Make Quick And Accurate Decisions In Emergency Situations.
