  1. Provide safe and efficient care to patients undergoing surgical procedures in the operating room.
  2. Collaborate with other members of the surgical team to ensure a smooth and coordinated patient experience.
  3. Utilize state-of-the-art technology and equipment to deliver high-quality surgical services.
  4. Maintain a clean and sterile environment in the operating room, following all infection control protocols.
  5. Administer medications and monitor patients' vital signs during surgical procedures.
  6. Assess and document patients' physical and emotional status before, during, and after surgery.
  7. Communicate effectively with patients and their families, providing education and support throughout the surgical process.
  8. Adhere to established policies and procedures, including those related to patient safety and privacy.
  9. Participate in continuous training and education to stay updated on the latest advancements and best practices in operating room nursing.
  10. Demonstrate compassion and empathy towards patients and their families, providing emotional support during challenging situations.
  11. Adhere to all legal and ethical standards of nursing practice.
  12. Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of all patient care activities.
  13. Collaborate with healthcare providers and support staff to ensure the delivery of comprehensive and coordinated care.
  14. Act as an advocate for patients, ensuring their needs and concerns are addressed.
  15. Adhere to all organizational protocols and guidelines for quality improvement and risk management.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Nursing: A Minimum Of A Bachelor's Degree In Nursing Is Required For The Position Of Operating Room Rn At Mercy's Center For Performance Medicine. This Degree Provides A Strong Foundation In Nursing Principles And Prepares Individuals For The Complex And Fast-Paced Environment Of The Operating Room.

  • Current Rn License: Candidates Must Possess A Current And Unrestricted Registered Nurse (Rn) License In The State Of Employment. This License Ensures That The Individual Has Met All The Necessary Requirements To Practice As A Professional Nurse And Is Legally Authorized To Provide Patient Care.

  • Operating Room Experience: Mercy's Center For Performance Medicine Requires Candidates To Have A Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience Working In An Operating Room Setting. This Experience Helps The Nurse To Develop The Necessary Skills And Knowledge To Provide Safe And Effective Patient Care In A Fast-Paced And High-Pressure Environment.

  • Bls And Acls Certification: Basic Life Support (Bls) And Advanced Cardiac Life Support (Acls) Certifications Are Essential Qualifications For An Operating Room Rn. These Certifications Demonstrate The Nurse's Ability To Respond To Emergency Situations And Provide Life-Saving Interventions, Which Are Critical Skills In The Operating Room.

  • Strong Communication And Teamwork Skills: The Role Of An Operating Room Rn At Mercy's Center For Performance Medicine Involves Working Closely With A Multidisciplinary Team Of Healthcare Professionals.
