- Assist in preparing the operating room for OB surgeries by setting up surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies.
- Ensure all necessary equipment is functioning properly and troubleshoot any technical issues that may arise.
- Anticipate the needs of the surgeon and surgical team during procedures, providing them with the appropriate instruments and supplies.
- Maintain a sterile and safe environment in the operating room by adhering to infection control protocols.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, such as nurses and anesthesiologists, to ensure the best possible patient care during surgeries.
- Monitor and record patient vital signs before, during, and after surgery.
- Assist with positioning the patient on the operating table and draping them with sterile coverings.
- Handle and dispose of surgical specimens and sharps in accordance with hospital policies.
- Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of all surgical procedures and equipment used.
- Participate in ongoing training and education to stay current on advancements in surgical technology and techniques.
- Communicate effectively with patients and their families, providing them with information and support before and after surgeries.
- Adhere to all hospital and department policies and procedures, including those related to safety and confidentiality.
- Contribute to the overall functioning of the surgical team by assisting with other tasks as needed.
- Demonstrate a commitment to providing exceptional patient care and ensuring positive outcomes for all OB surgeries.
- Maintain a professional and respectful demeanor at all times, promoting a positive and collaborative work environment.
Certified Surgical Technologist (Cst) Credential From The National Board Of Surgical Technology And Surgical Assisting (Nbstsa).
Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience In The Operating Room, Preferably In The Ob/Gyn Specialty.
Knowledge And Proficiency In Aseptic Technique, Surgical Instrumentation, And Equipment Used In Obstetrical Procedures.
Familiarity With Electronic Medical Record Systems And Ability To Accurately Document Patient Information.
Strong Communication And Teamwork Skills, With The Ability To Effectively Collaborate With Surgeons, Nurses, And Other Healthcare Professionals In A Fast-Paced Environment.
