  1. Perform nuclear medicine procedures and interpret results with accuracy and efficiency.
  2. Operate and maintain imaging equipment according to safety protocols and manufacturer guidelines.
  3. Monitor patient vital signs and ensure their comfort and safety during procedures.
  4. Administer radiopharmaceuticals and other medications as prescribed by physicians.
  5. Collaborate with radiologists, cardiologists, and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive patient care.
  6. Maintain patient records and document procedures accurately and in a timely manner.
  7. Stay updated on current trends and advancements in nuclear medicine technology.
  8. Adhere to all hospital and departmental policies and procedures.
  9. Ensure quality control and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  10. Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding nuclear medicine procedures.
  11. Participate in departmental and hospital-wide quality improvement initiatives.
  12. Maintain patient confidentiality and uphold ethical standards in all interactions.
  13. Communicate effectively with patients, coworkers, and other healthcare professionals.
  14. Participate in on-call and weekend/holiday rotations as needed.
  15. Attend required trainings and maintain required certifications.
  16. Take responsibility for personal and professional growth and development.
  17. Adhere to radiation safety protocols and maintain a safe work environment.
  18. Collaborate with department leadership to improve processes and enhance patient care.
  19. Provide exceptional customer service and promote a positive image of the hospital.
  20. Embrace and uphold the mission, vision, and values of the hospital.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Nuclear Medicine Technology: A Minimum Of A Bachelor's Degree In Nuclear Medicine Technology Is Typically Required For A Nuclear Med Technologist Position At Mercy. This Degree Should Be Accredited By The Joint Review Committee On Education In Nuclear Medicine (Jrcnmt).

  • Certification By The Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (Nmtcb): Mercy May Require Candidates To Hold A Current And Valid Certification From The Nmtcb. This Certification Demonstrates A Thorough Understanding Of Nuclear Medicine Technology Principles And Practices.

  • State Licensure: Candidates Should Hold A Valid State License To Practice Nuclear Medicine Technology. Requirements For Licensure May Vary By State, But Typically Include Completion Of An Accredited Program And Passing A Certification Exam.

  • Bls Certification: Basic Life Support (Bls) Certification Through The American Heart Association Is Often Required For A Nuclear Med Technologist Position At Mercy. This Certification Ensures That The Candidate Is Trained In Emergency Life-Saving Techniques.

  • Experience With Advanced Imaging Technology: Mercy May Prefer Candidates With Experience In Using Advanced Imaging Technology, Such As Positron Emission Tomography (Pet) Or Single Photon Emission Computed Tomography (Spect). This Experience Can Demonstrate A Candidate's Ability To Operate And Troubleshoot Complex Equipment.
