  1. Perform various laboratory tests and procedures accurately and efficiently.
  2. Follow standard operating procedures and maintain quality control measures to ensure accurate and reliable results.
  3. Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, troubleshoot any issues, and perform routine maintenance.
  4. Report and document test results in a timely and accurate manner.
  5. Adhere to all safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  6. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated patient care.
  7. Continuously monitor and evaluate quality control measures to maintain high standards of patient care.
  8. Stay updated on industry developments, new technologies, and advancements in laboratory testing.
  9. Provide guidance and support to other laboratory staff and students.
  10. Maintain accurate records and documentation of all laboratory procedures and results.
  11. Communicate effectively with patients and healthcare team members, providing clear and concise explanations of procedures and results.
  12. Adhere to all ethical and legal standards in the performance of duties.
  13. Demonstrate a commitment to professional growth and development by attending trainings, conferences, and workshops.
  14. Maintain confidentiality of patient information and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
  15. Provide exceptional customer service to patients and their families.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Medical Technology Or Related Field: A Minimum Of A Bachelor's Degree In Medical Technology Or A Related Field, Such As Clinical Laboratory Science, Is Typically Required For A Medical Technologist/Mlt-Prn Position At Mercy.

  • Ascp Certification: Mercy May Require Applicants To Have Certification From The American Society For Clinical Pathology (Ascp) As A Medical Laboratory Scientist (Mls) Or Medical Laboratory Technician (Mlt).

  • Previous Laboratory Experience: Prior Experience Working In A Clinical Laboratory Setting Is Preferred For A Medical Technologist/Mlt-Prn Job At Mercy. This Can Include Experience Gained Through Internships Or Relevant Work Experience.

  • Proficiency In Performing Laboratory Tests And Operating Equipment: Candidates Should Have A Strong Understanding Of Laboratory Procedures And Protocols, As Well As The Ability To Accurately Perform A Variety Of Tests Using Laboratory Equipment And Instrumentation.

  • Excellent Communication And Teamwork Skills: As A Medical Technologist/Mlt At Mercy, The Ability To Effectively Communicate With Medical Staff, Patients, And Colleagues Is Essential. Candidates Should Also Be Able To Work Well In A Team-Oriented Environment And Collaborate With Others To Achieve Common Goals.
