Job Description

At Mercy, we are seeking a talented and motivated Medical Laboratory Technologist to join our team. As a Medical Laboratory Technologist, you will be responsible for performing laboratory tests, analyzing results, and providing general laboratory support. The successful candidate will be detail-oriented, highly organized, and have the ability to work independently.The ideal candidate should possess a Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or a related field. Additionally, you should have at least 1-3 years of experience in a hospital, clinical, or research laboratory setting. A certification from the American Society for Clinical Pathology is preferred.If you have a passion for laboratory work, excellent communication skills, and a strong commitment to patient care, we would love to hear from you!

Responsibilities:

  1. Perform laboratory tests according to established protocols and document results accurately.
  2. Analyze laboratory test results and identify any anomalies or discrepancies.
  3. Ensure laboratory equipment is functioning correctly and is properly maintained.
  4. Provide general laboratory support by ordering and tracking laboratory supplies, calibrating equipment, and cleaning and preparing specimens for testing.
  5. Maintain detailed laboratory records and files.
  6. Follow safety protocols and adhere to industry regulations.
  7. Communicate effectively with colleagues and patients.
  8. Stay up-to-date on relevant scientific and medical advancements.
  9. Monitor and review quality control standards to ensure accuracy of test results.
  10. Provide timely and accurate reports or results to the medical staff.
