
Medical Assistant - Pulmonology

- Provide compassionate and high-quality care to patients in the Pulmonology department.
- Work closely with physicians and other healthcare professionals to assist in medical procedures and treatments.
- Perform administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, maintaining patient records, and managing medical supplies.
- Conduct patient intake and assessments, including taking vital signs and recording medical history.
- Educate patients on proper treatment plans and medication instructions as directed by the physician.
- Monitor and document patient progress, report any concerns or changes to the physician.
- Maintain strict adherence to all HIPAA and patient confidentiality guidelines.
- Assist with diagnostic tests and procedures, such as pulmonary function tests and bronchoscopies.
- Ensure the cleanliness and organization of exam rooms and equipment.
- Provide support and assistance to patients and their families, addressing any questions or concerns.
- Continuously update knowledge and skills through ongoing education and training opportunities.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe and clean environment for patients and staff.
- Collaborate with other members of the healthcare team to provide comprehensive and coordinated care to patients.
- Contribute to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the Pulmonology department by completing tasks and duties in a timely and accurate manner.
- Serve as a positive and professional representative of Mercy and uphold the organization's values and mission.
Certified Medical Assistant (Cma) Or Registered Medical Assistant (Rma) Credential From A Recognized Accrediting Organization.
Minimum Of 2 Years Experience Working As A Medical Assistant In A Pulmonology Or Respiratory Care Setting.
Proficient In Electronic Medical Record (Emr) Systems And Able To Accurately Document Patient Information.
Knowledge Of Pulmonary Procedures And Treatments, Such As Spirometry, Oxygen Therapy, And Nebulizer Treatments.
Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Effectively Communicate With Patients, Physicians, And Other Healthcare Professionals.
