- Assist pediatricians in providing high-quality healthcare services to young patients.
- Administer vaccines and medications as directed by pediatricians.
- Monitor and record vital signs, such as temperature, heart rate, and blood pressure.
- Communicate with parents or guardians regarding their child's care and treatment plan.
- Prepare examination rooms and ensure they are stocked with necessary supplies.
- Collect and process lab specimens for testing.
- Maintain accurate and updated medical records for each patient.
- Follow infection control and safety protocols to ensure a safe and clean environment for patients.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care to patients.
- Comfort and reassure young patients during procedures and appointments.
- Educate patients and their families on healthy habits and preventive care.
- Assist in scheduling appointments and managing patient flow.
- Stay up-to-date on current medical procedures and protocols.
- Adhere to HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute ideas for improving patient care.
- Handle administrative duties such as answering phones and maintaining inventory.

Completion Of An Accredited Medical Assistant Program: A Qualified Medical Assistant At Mercy Should Have Completed A Recognized Program In Medical Assisting And Possess A Certification Or Diploma.
Knowledge Of Pediatric Care And Procedures: As The Job Is In A Pediatric Clinic, Candidates Should Have A Deep Understanding Of Pediatric Care, Including Administering Vaccinations, Handling Infants And Children, And Managing Common Pediatric Conditions.
Proficiency In Medical Terminology And Documentation: Medical Assistants At Mercy Should Be Well-Versed In Medical Terminology And Have The Ability To Accurately Document Patient Information In Electronic Health Records.
Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills: Working In A Pediatric Clinic Requires Excellent Communication Skills To Effectively Interact With Patients, Parents, And Other Healthcare Professionals. Candidates Should Also Have A Compassionate And Friendly Demeanor.
Experience With Pediatric-Specific Equipment And Procedures: Candidates Should Have Experience Using Equipment And Performing Procedures Specific To Pediatric Care, Such As Taking Vital Signs, Performing Throat Swabs, And Administering Nebulizer Treatments.
