Medical Assistant - Internal Medicine

1. Greet and welcome patients in a warm and friendly manner, creating a positive first impression of the Mercy healthcare experience.
2. Assist physicians and other medical staff in providing high-quality patient care by performing a variety of administrative and clinical tasks.
3. Take and record vital signs, patient medical history, and other important health information accurately and efficiently.
4. Prepare examination rooms and ensure they are properly stocked and cleaned for each patient visit.
5. Assist with medical procedures and treatments as directed by the physician, ensuring patient comfort and safety at all times.
6. Communicate effectively with patients, providing education and instruction on medical procedures, medications, and follow-up care.
7. Schedule appointments, manage patient records, and maintain confidentiality of all patient information in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
8. Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure smooth and efficient patient flow, coordinating referrals, and addressing any patient concerns or needs.
9. Stay up-to-date on medical procedures, equipment, and technology, attending training and development opportunities as needed.
10. Maintain a professional and compassionate demeanor at all times, displaying empathy and understanding towards patients and their families.
11. Adhere to all safety and infection control protocols, maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
12. Perform other duties as assigned by the physician or practice manager, contributing to the overall success of the team and organization.
