Medical Assistant

We are looking for an experienced and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our team at Mercy. The successful candidate will play an essential role in providing excellent care to our patients. In this role, you will perform administrative and clinical duties to support the healthcare team in providing quality patient care.To be successful in this role, you should have a strong understanding of medical terminology and a commitment to providing excellent patient service. You should also be extremely organized and have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Responsibilities:

1. Greet patients in a friendly and professional manner and provide them with necessary information.
2. Assist with administrative duties in the office, such as filing paperwork, answering phones, and scheduling appointments.
3. Take vital signs, such as blood pressure and temperature, and document patient information accurately.
4. Prepare examination rooms with the necessary supplies and equipment.
5. Draw blood and administer injections and other medications as directed by a physician.
6. Collect and process lab specimens, including urine and blood samples.
7. Educate patients on medical issues and treatments.
8. Assist with minor procedures and treatments as directed by a physician.
9. Maintain medical records and ensure they are up to date and organized.
10. Follow safety protocols and universal precautions to ensure a safe environment.
