- Oversee the daily operations of the laboratory services at Mercy, ensuring smooth and efficient functioning.
- Manage and supervise a team of dedicated lab technicians, providing guidance, support, and feedback to ensure high-quality work.
- Collaborate with other departments, such as nursing and physicians, to ensure seamless coordination and communication for patient care.
- Develop and implement protocols and procedures for the laboratory to ensure accurate and timely test results, consistent with industry standards.
- Monitor and maintain inventory levels of laboratory supplies, equipment, and reagents, ensuring adequate stock for uninterrupted operations.
- Review and analyze lab reports and data, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory and safety guidelines, including OSHA, CLIA, and HIPAA.
- Train and onboard new lab staff, providing ongoing education and professional development opportunities for the team.
- Oversee all quality control and assurance processes, including proficiency testing, to ensure accuracy and reliability of test results.
- Stay up-to-date on advancements and developments in the field of lab operations, implementing new technologies and techniques to improve services.
- Serve as a liaison between the lab and other departments, communicating any issues or concerns and working collaboratively to find solutions.
- Manage budget and expenses for the lab, identifying cost-saving opportunities and ensuring resources are allocated effectively.
- Foster a positive and inclusive work environment for the lab team, promoting teamwork, open communication, and a culture of continuous improvement.
- Ensure high ethical standards and confidentiality are maintained for all patient information and lab procedures.
- Represent Mercy and the lab operations at meetings, conferences, and events, promoting the organization's mission and values.
Minimum Of 5 Years Of Experience In Laboratory Operations, Preferably In A Healthcare Setting.
Bachelor's Degree In Medical Technology, Laboratory Science, Or A Related Field.
Strong Leadership Skills And Experience Managing A Team Of Laboratory Professionals.
Knowledge Of Laboratory Regulations And Compliance Requirements, Including Clia, Cap, And Hipaa.
