  1. Serve as the primary point of contact for patients regarding insurance coverage and benefits.
  2. Educate patients on their insurance options and help them understand their coverage and benefits.
  3. Verify patient insurance information and accurately input it into the system.
  4. Work with insurance companies to obtain pre-authorizations and verify coverage for medical procedures and services.
  5. Assist patients in resolving any insurance-related issues or concerns.
  6. Collaborate with healthcare providers and other team members to ensure patients receive the necessary coverage and benefits for their medical needs.
  7. Stay informed about changes in insurance policies and procedures to provide up-to-date information to patients.
  8. Maintain accurate and detailed records of patient insurance information and interactions.
  9. Adhere to all HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality.
  10. Participate in training and development opportunities to stay current with insurance industry trends and best practices.
  11. Provide exceptional customer service to patients, their families, and insurance company representatives.
  12. Advocate for patients and their insurance needs within the healthcare system.
  13. Work closely with billing and coding departments to ensure accurate and timely submission of insurance claims.
  14. Continuously evaluate and improve processes to enhance the efficiency of insurance services.
  15. Demonstrate a commitment to Mercy's mission and values of compassion and excellence in healthcare.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Business Administration, Finance, Or A Related Field.

  • Minimum Of 2 Years Experience In The Insurance Industry, Preferably In A Customer Service Or Sales Role.

  • Strong Communication Skills And Ability To Effectively Explain Insurance Policies And Coverage Options To Clients.

  • Knowledge Of Various Types Of Insurance, Such As Health, Life, And Property, And Ability To Assist Clients In Choosing The Best Coverage For Their Needs.

  • Proficiency In Microsoft Office And Experience Using Insurance Management Systems.
