  1. Verify insurance coverage for inpatient services and communicate with insurance companies as needed.
  2. Identify potential eligibility for financial assistance programs and guide patients through the application process.
  3. Conduct thorough and accurate reviews of patient records to determine eligibility for financial assistance.
  4. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of insurance policies and eligibility requirements to ensure accurate and timely assistance for patients.
  5. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including social workers and financial counselors, to ensure comprehensive and coordinated care for patients.
  6. Provide excellent customer service to patients and their families, addressing any questions or concerns regarding insurance coverage and financial assistance.
  7. Maintain accurate and organized documentation of patient information and financial assistance processes.
  8. Stay informed about changes in insurance policies and eligibility requirements, and communicate any updates or changes to the appropriate team members.
  9. Proactively identify areas for improvement in the financial assistance process and work with the team to implement solutions.
  10. Adhere to all confidentiality and privacy policies when handling sensitive patient information.
  11. Attend trainings and educational opportunities to continuously develop knowledge and skills in the field of insurance and financial assistance.
  12. Collaborate with billing and coding teams to ensure accurate and timely submission of insurance claims.
  13. Maintain a professional and compassionate demeanor at all times, reflecting the values and mission of Mercy.
  14. Participate in team meetings and discussions to share insights and ideas for improving the overall patient experience.
  15. Continuously monitor and track patient eligibility and financial assistance data to identify trends and make recommendations for improvement.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Healthcare Administration, Business, Or Related Field.

  • Minimum Of 2 Years Experience In Healthcare Eligibility And Insurance Verification.

  • Strong Knowledge Of Medicare, Medicaid, And Commercial Insurance Regulations And Guidelines.

  • Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills To Effectively Communicate With Patients, Providers, And Insurance Companies.

  • Proficient In Using Electronic Medical Record Systems And Insurance Verification Software.
