  1. Accurately code inpatient services using ICD-10 and CPT coding guidelines and regulations.
  2. Review medical records to ensure completeness and accuracy of coding.
  3. Assign appropriate codes based on documentation provided by healthcare providers.
  4. Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify documentation and ensure accurate coding.
  5. Stay up-to-date on coding updates and changes to ensure compliance.
  6. Adhere to all HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality.
  7. Maintain productivity and quality standards set by the organization.
  8. Participate in coding audits and provide feedback for improvement.
  9. Communicate with billing and reimbursement teams to resolve coding-related issues.
  10. Provide education and training to healthcare providers on coding guidelines and documentation requirements.
  11. Serve as a resource for coding-related inquiries and provide guidance to other team members.
  12. Actively contribute to the improvement of coding processes and procedures.
  13. Ensure timely and accurate submission of coded records for billing purposes.
  14. Comply with all organizational policies and procedures.
  15. Promote a culture of excellence and continuous improvement within the coding team.
  16. Maintain professional and ethical standards at all times.
  17. Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate and timely coding of inpatient services.
  18. Participate in meetings and training sessions as required.
  19. Report any coding errors or discrepancies to the appropriate parties.
  20. Uphold the mission, vision, and values of the organization in all job responsibilities.

Job Qualifications
  • Knowledge Of Medical Terminology, Anatomy, And Physiology.

  • Certified Coding Specialist (Ccs) Credential From The American Health Information Management Association (Ahima).

  • Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience In Inpatient Coding, Preferably In A Hospital Setting.

  • Proficiency In Icd-10-Cm And Pcs Coding Systems.

  • Strong Attention To Detail And Ability To Meet Productivity And Accuracy Standards.
