- Provide compassionate care to patients in accordance with their individual care plans and needs.
- Assist patients with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Monitor and record patients' vital signs and report any changes or concerns to the appropriate healthcare professionals.
- Follow infection control protocols to maintain a safe and clean environment for patients.
- Communicate effectively with patients, their families, and other healthcare team members, providing updates on patient progress and addressing any concerns.
- Assist with medication reminders and help patients adhere to their prescribed treatment plans.
- Promote and maintain a positive and supportive environment for patients, respecting their privacy and dignity at all times.
- Attend and actively participate in team meetings and in-service training to continuously improve and update skills and knowledge.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated and comprehensive care for patients.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care and other required records.
- Adhere to all healthcare and safety regulations and protocols.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
- Demonstrate a strong commitment to providing exceptional care and promoting the overall well-being of patients.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervising healthcare professionals.
Completion Of A State-Approved Home Health Aide Training Program: Mercy Requires All Home Health Aides To Have Completed A State-Approved Training Program To Ensure They Have The Necessary Skills And Knowledge To Provide Quality Care To Patients.
Current Certification As A Home Health Aide: Candidates Must Possess A Valid Certification As A Home Health Aide To Demonstrate Their Competency In Providing Personal Care And Assistance To Patients.
Experience In Home Health Care Or A Related Field: Mercy Prefers Candidates Who Have Previous Experience Working As A Home Health Aide Or In A Similar Role, As This Shows They Are Familiar With The Responsibilities And Challenges Of The Job.
Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills: Home Health Aides At Mercy Must Be Able To Communicate Effectively With Patients, Their Families, And Other Healthcare Professionals. They Should Also Possess Strong Interpersonal Skills To Build Rapport With Patients And Provide Emotional Support.
Compassionate And Patient-Centered Approach: The Most Successful Home Health Aides At Mercy Are Those Who Genuinely Care For Their Patients And Have A Patient-Centered Approach To Care.
