
Health Information Technician
At Mercy, we are looking for a passionate and experienced Health Information Technician to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining the accuracy and security of our patients’ records. You will analyze patient information, report data, and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations.The ideal candidate should possess a thorough knowledge of medical terminology and coding systems, as well as experience in a healthcare setting. An analytical mindset, strong organizational skills, and attention to detail are essential for this role. Responsibilities:
- Analyze and review patient health information to ensure accuracy and compliance with applicable regulations.
- Code patient information using standardized coding systems and medical terminology.
- Maintain the security and confidentiality of patient health records.
- Generate and report data related to patient health information.
- Monitor and audit health information and records for accuracy and completeness.
- Communicate effectively with staff, patients, and other healthcare professionals.
- Stay up-to-date with current trends and regulations related to health information.
- Utilize computer systems and technology to manage and analyze patient health information.
- Provide guidance and training to new staff members on health information management procedures.
- Troubleshoot and resolve any issues related to health information.
