
Health Information Technician

As a Health Information Technician, you will be responsible for maintaining and updating medical records while ensuring accuracy, confidentiality, and compliance with all relevant standards.To be successful in this role, you should have a degree in Health Information Technology or a related field, along with at least three years of experience in a similar position. Additionally, you should be proficient in medical coding, data entry, and computer systems. Responsibilities:
- Maintain and update patient medical records with accuracy and confidentiality
- Ensure compliance with relevant standards and regulations
- Code and enter medical data into computer systems
- Utilize computer software to store and manage patient records
- Perform quality assurance checks on medical records for accuracy
- Retrieve and analyze patient data for research and reporting purposes
- Review and respond to requests for medical information
- Assist with the training of new staff members on medical records management procedures
- Maintain the security of patient information in accordance with HIPAA regulations
- Monitor changes in health information technology and suggest improvements to processes and systems
