
Health Information Technician
Mercy is looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Health Information Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a comprehensive understanding of health information systems and the ability to accurately capture, analyze, and maintain patient records. This position requires a professional who is comfortable in a fast-paced work environment and has excellent organizational and communication skills. Required Qualifications:• Associate’s degree in Health Information Management and Technology or related field• At least two years of professional experience in a healthcare setting• Proficiency with medical terminology and coding• Excellent organizational and communication skills• Proficiency with computers and health information systems• Ability to work independently and in a team setting• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
Responsibilities:
• Accurately capture, analyze, and maintain patient records in accordance to HIPAA and other relevant healthcare regulations
• Utilize medical terminology and coding systems to ensure accuracy of patient records
• Monitor and update health information systems on a regular basis
• Effectively communicate with other healthcare professionals
• Support patient needs in a fast-paced work environment
• Remain organized and able to multi-task
• Utilize computer systems to document patient information
• Maintain a valid driver's license and reliable transportation for off-site visits, if necessary
