
Health Information Technician
At Mercy, we are looking for a Health Information Technician to join our team. This role requires a highly organized and detail-oriented professional with exceptional communication and technology skills. The successful candidate will be an integral part of the Health Information team, managing the accuracy, completeness, and security of patient medical records.The ideal candidate will possess a degree in Health Information Systems, Medical Records Science, or related field. Additionally, it is essential that the candidate possess a working knowledge of health information management principles, HIPAA regulations, and medical terminology. Responsibilities:
- Manage the accuracy, completeness, and security of patient medical records.
- Utilize a working knowledge of health information management principles, HIPAA regulations, and medical terminology.
- Process incoming and outgoing requests for patient information.
- Prepare and submit reports and summaries of information to authorized individuals.
- Track records requests and ensure timely completion.
- Follow established procedures when releasing information in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Maintain and update patient records and associated databases.
- Audit medical records for accuracy and completeness.
- Respond to inquiries from patients, healthcare providers, and other stakeholders.
- Provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers.
