
Health Information Technician
We are looking for an experienced and motivated Health Information Technician to join the Mercy team. The successful candidate will be responsible for organizing, maintaining and verifying the accuracy of medical records, as well as ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.The ideal candidate should have a minimum of two years of experience working in a healthcare environment, preferably in a medical records department. They should possess a working knowledge of ICD10 and CPT coding, as well as a strong attention to detail and the ability to multitask. A professional, courteous attitude and a commitment to patient confidentiality are also essential.If you have a passion for healthcare and a commitment to accuracy, we want to hear from you.
Responsibilities:
- Organize, maintain, and verify the accuracy of medical records in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Code medical records using ICD10 and CPT coding systems.
- Maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
- Ensure timely and accurate processing of medical records.
- Monitor and update medical record systems.
- Assist with the development and implementation of policies and procedures related to medical records.
- Respond to requests for medical records in a timely and efficient manner.
- Track and report on medical records processing, errors, and trends.
- Handle patient inquiries related to medical records.
- Assist with additional administrative tasks as needed.
