  1. Set up and maintain endoscopy equipment and instruments before, during, and after procedures.
  2. Ensure patient comfort and safety during procedures, including monitoring vital signs and responding to any changes.
  3. Assist physicians and nurses during GI procedures, anticipating their needs and providing necessary equipment and supplies.
  4. Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of procedures, including patient information, procedure results, and any complications.
  5. Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to ensure efficient and effective patient care.
  6. Maintain a clean and sterile environment in the endoscopy unit, following all infection control protocols.
  7. Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and report any issues to the appropriate personnel.
  8. Educate patients and their families on pre-procedure and post-procedure care instructions.
  9. Continuously update knowledge and skills through attending trainings and staying current with industry advancements and best practices.
  10. Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures, ensuring patient confidentiality and safety at all times.

Job Qualifications
  • Certified Gi-Endoscopy Technician: The Ideal Candidate Should Hold A Certification As A Gi-Endoscopy Technician From A Recognized Institution.

  • Experience In Gi-Endoscopy Procedures: Mercy Requires Candidates To Have A Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience In Performing Gi-Endoscopy Procedures In A Healthcare Setting.

  • Knowledge Of Medical Equipment: The Candidate Should Possess A Strong Understanding Of Different Types Of Medical Equipment Used In Gi-Endoscopy Procedures, Such As Endoscopes, Biopsy Forceps, And Suction Devices.

  • Attention To Detail: As A Gi-Endoscopy Technician, One Must Have A Keen Eye For Detail To Ensure Accurate And Precise Results During Procedures. The Candidate Must Also Be Able To Recognize Any Potential Complications That May Arise During The Procedure.

  • Communication And Interpersonal Skills: The Position Requires The Ability To Effectively Communicate With Patients, Physicians, And Other Healthcare Professionals. The Candidate Must Also Possess Strong Interpersonal Skills To Provide Emotional Support To Patients During Procedures.
