
GI - Endoscopy Tech (Days)

In this role, you will be responsible for assisting in the accurate and efficient performance of GI procedures, ensuring the safety and comfort of our patients. - Perform GI procedures accurately and efficiently, adhering to all safety protocols and guidelines.
- Prioritize patient comfort and ensure their safety throughout the entire procedure.
- Assist in the preparation of equipment, supplies, and instruments needed for GI procedures.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the procedure room before, during, and after procedures.
- Monitor patient vital signs and report any changes or concerns to the healthcare team.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to provide high-quality care and ensure smooth and timely procedures.
- Document all procedures accurately and thoroughly in patient records.
- Educate patients and their families on post-procedure care and answer any questions or concerns.
- Keep up-to-date with current trends and advancements in GI procedures and techniques.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
- Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures, including infection control protocols.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and safety.
- Attend regular staff meetings and training sessions to stay informed about departmental updates and changes.
- Show compassion and empathy towards patients and their families, creating a welcoming and supportive environment.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
Degree Or Certification In A Related Field: A Gi-Endoscopy Tech At Mercy Should Possess A Degree Or Certification In A Related Field Such As Nursing, Radiology, Or Medical Technology.
Previous Experience In Gi-Endoscopy: Candidates Should Have A Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience Working In A Gi-Endoscopy Unit, With A Strong Understanding Of Endoscopic Procedures, Equipment, And Patient Care.
Knowledge Of Infection Control And Safety Protocols: The Role Requires A Thorough Understanding Of Infection Control Practices And Safety Protocols To Maintain A Safe And Sterile Environment For Patients And Staff.
Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills: Effective Communication And Interpersonal Skills Are Essential For This Role, As The Gi-Endoscopy Tech Will Be Working Closely With Patients, Physicians, And Other Healthcare Professionals.
Ability To Work In A Fast-Paced Environment: The Gi-Endoscopy Tech Will Be Responsible For Assisting With Multiple Procedures In A Fast-Paced Setting. Candidates Should Be Able To Multitask, Prioritize, And Remain Calm Under Pressure.
