  1. Provide compassionate and expert care to women during the labor and delivery process.
  2. Utilize your expertise and knowledge to ensure safe and successful deliveries.
  3. Monitor and assess the physical and emotional well-being of mothers and babies.
  4. Administer medications and treatments as needed.
  5. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans.
  6. Educate and support patients and their families throughout the labor and delivery process.
  7. Maintain accurate and detailed patient records.
  8. Adhere to all safety and infection control protocols.
  9. Participate in ongoing education and training to stay current with best practices and new developments in labor and delivery.
  10. Serve as a resource and mentor for less experienced staff members.
  11. Demonstrate excellent communication skills and maintain a positive and professional demeanor with patients, families, and colleagues.
  12. Work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams to ensure continuity of care.
  13. Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures.
  14. Continuously assess and improve the quality of patient care.
  15. Maintain a high level of professionalism and ethical standards at all times.

Job Qualifications

  • Current Rn License In The State Of Employment: The Candidate For An Experienced Labor And Birth Rn Position At Mercy Must Possess A Valid And Active Rn License In The State Where The Hospital Is Located.

  • Minimum Of 2 Years Of Labor And Delivery Experience: Mercy Is Seeking An Rn With At Least 2 Years Of Experience In Labor And Delivery, Preferably In A Hospital Setting. This Ensures That The Candidate Is Familiar With The Unique Challenges And Responsibilities Of This Specialized Area Of Nursing.

  • Bls And Nrp Certification: The Candidate Must Be Certified In Basic Life Support (Bls) And Neonatal Resuscitation Program (Nrp). These Certifications Demonstrate The Candidate's Ability To Provide Life-Saving Interventions In Emergency Situations.

  • Bachelor Of Science In Nursing (Bsn) Degree: While Not Required, Having A Bsn Degree Is Preferred For This Position. This Degree Demonstrates A Higher Level Of Education And Knowledge In Nursing, Which Can Be Beneficial In Providing Quality Patient Care.

  • Ability To Work In A Fast-Paced And High-Stress Environment: Labor And Birth Can Be Unpredictable And Fast-Paced, Requiring The Rn To Be Able To Think Quickly And Handle High-Stress Situations With Calmness And Efficiency. The Candidate Must Be Able To Demonstrate Their Ability To Thrive In This Type Of Environment.
