  1. Lead and supervise a team of Environmental Services Technicians to ensure all tasks are completed in a timely and efficient manner.
  2. Maintain a high standard of cleanliness and sanitation throughout the facility by adhering to established protocols and procedures.
  3. Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify areas for improvement and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
  4. Train and mentor new team members, providing guidance and support to ensure they are knowledgeable and proficient in their roles.
  5. Collaborate with other departments to coordinate cleaning schedules and prioritize tasks based on the needs of the facility.
  6. Monitor and maintain inventory levels of cleaning supplies and equipment, reporting any shortages or malfunctions to the appropriate personnel.
  7. Respond to any urgent cleaning needs or requests, demonstrating a sense of urgency and attention to detail.
  8. Communicate effectively with staff, patients, and visitors to address any concerns or complaints regarding the cleanliness of the facility.
  9. Implement and promote environmentally friendly practices and procedures, such as recycling and proper waste disposal, to support the organization's sustainability goals.
  10. Continuously seek opportunities to improve processes and increase efficiency within the Environmental Services department.

Job Qualifications
  • High School Diploma Or Ged: A Minimum Educational Requirement For The Environmental Services Technician-Lead Position At Mercy Is A High School Diploma Or Ged. This Demonstrates The Candidate's Ability To Comprehend And Follow Instructions, As Well As Basic Math And Communication Skills.

  • Previous Experience In Environmental Services: Mercy May Require Candidates To Have At Least 2-3 Years Of Experience Working In Environmental Services, Preferably In A Healthcare Setting. This Ensures That The Candidate Has A Strong Understanding Of Environmental Cleaning And Safety Protocols.

  • Leadership And Supervisory Skills: As A Lead Position, Candidates Should Possess Strong Leadership And Supervisory Skills To Effectively Manage And Train A Team Of Environmental Services Technicians. Previous Experience In A Supervisory Role Or Evidence Of Strong Leadership Qualities Is Preferred.

  • Knowledge Of Infection Control And Safety Protocols: The Environmental Services Technician-Lead Is Responsible For Maintaining A Safe And Clean Environment For Patients And Staff. Therefore, Candidates Should Have A Strong Understanding Of Infection Control Procedures And Safety Protocols To Prevent The Spread Of Infections.

  • Physical Ability: This Role Requires Physical Stamina And The Ability To Perform Tasks That Involve Standing, Bending, Lifting, And Pushing Heavy Equipment. Candidates Should Be Physically Fit And Able To Meet The Physical Demands Of The Job. A Pre-Employment Physical Assessment May Be Required.
