Job Description

As an Environmental Service Tech, you will play a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness and sanitation of our facilities. This full-time, evening position in our EVS department requires a dedicated individual with a strong attention to detail and a passion for maintaining a healthy and hygienic environment.   1. Ensure all patient rooms, common areas, and other designated areas are cleaned and maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness and sanitation.
  2. Follow established cleaning procedures and protocols to maintain a safe and healthy environment for patients, staff, and visitors.
  3. Perform routine cleaning tasks such as dusting, mopping, and disinfecting surfaces in all areas of the facility.
  4. Monitor and restock cleaning and sanitation supplies to ensure all necessary materials are available and properly utilized.
  5. Adhere to infection control policies and procedures to prevent the spread of infectious diseases.
  6. Handle and dispose of hazardous waste materials in a safe and appropriate manner.
  7. Respond promptly to requests for cleaning and sanitation assistance in patient rooms and other areas of the facility.
  8. Report any maintenance or safety issues to the appropriate department for resolution.
  9. Collaborate with other members of the EVS team to ensure all areas of the facility are consistently clean and well-maintained.
  10. Exhibit a positive and professional attitude when interacting with patients, staff, and visitors.
  11. Attend training and educational sessions to stay updated on proper cleaning and sanitation techniques.
  12. Maintain confidentiality of patient and facility information.
  13. Comply with all hospital and departmental policies and procedures.
  14. Follow all safety protocols to prevent accidents and injuries while performing job duties.
  15. Maintain a clean and organized work area at all times.

Job Qualifications
  • High School Diploma Or Equivalent: A Minimum Of A High School Diploma Or Equivalent Is Typically Required For This Position. This Demonstrates A Basic Level Of Education And Knowledge Necessary For The Job.

  • Previous Experience In Environmental Services: Previous Experience In A Similar Role, Preferably In A Healthcare Setting, Is Highly Desirable. This Shows That The Candidate Has A Good Understanding Of The Duties And Responsibilities Of An Environmental Service Tech.

  • Knowledge Of Cleaning And Sanitation Protocols: A Strong Understanding Of Cleaning And Sanitation Protocols Is Crucial For This Position. This Includes Knowledge Of Proper Use Of Cleaning Chemicals, Equipment, And Techniques To Maintain A Safe And Sanitary Environment.

  • Physical Stamina And Ability To Lift: This Position May Require Standing And Walking For Extended Periods Of Time, As Well As The Ability To Lift Heavy Objects. Candidates Should Be Physically Fit And Able To Handle The Physical Demands Of The Job.

  • Attention To Detail And Strong Work Ethic: An Environmental Service Tech Must Have A Keen Eye For Detail And Be Able To Work Efficiently And Effectively To Complete Tasks Within A Timely Manner. A Strong Work Ethic And The Ability To Work Independently Are Also Important Qualities For This Role.
