- Conduct comprehensive assessments of mothers and newborns to determine appropriate care plans.
- Provide antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum care to patients according to established protocols and guidelines.
- Monitor and manage the progress of labor and delivery, including recognition and management of complications.
- Administer medications, perform procedures, and provide education and support to patients and their families.
- Collaborate with other healthcare team members to ensure continuity of care and facilitate optimal outcomes.
- Maintain accurate and complete medical records, including documentation of interventions and patient progress.
- Stay up-to-date on current best practices and guidelines in midwifery care.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and adhere to safety standards to provide the highest quality care to patients.
- Serve as a resource and mentor to other healthcare team members, including nurses and support staff.
- Demonstrate compassion, empathy, and respect towards patients and their families.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to ensure coordinated and individualized care.
- Adhere to ethical and legal standards in the provision of midwifery care.
- Participate in on-call and weekend duties as required.
- Maintain a positive and professional attitude, contributing to a supportive and collaborative work environment.
- Uphold the mission, values, and policies of Mercy in all aspects of the job.
Bachelor's Or Master's Degree In Nursing With A Specialization In Midwifery From An Accredited Institution.
Current State License As A Certified Nurse-Midwife (Cnm) Or Eligibility For Licensure.
Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience Working As A Midwife, Preferably In A Hospital Or Clinical Setting.
Strong Knowledge And Understanding Of Evidence-Based Midwifery Practices And Procedures.
Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Provide Compassionate And Culturally Sensitive Care To Patients.
