Job Description

  1. Conduct comprehensive assessments of mothers and newborns to determine appropriate care plans.
  2. Provide antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum care to patients according to established protocols and guidelines.
  3. Monitor and manage the progress of labor and delivery, including recognition and management of complications.
  4. Administer medications, perform procedures, and provide education and support to patients and their families.
  5. Collaborate with other healthcare team members to ensure continuity of care and facilitate optimal outcomes.
  6. Maintain accurate and complete medical records, including documentation of interventions and patient progress.
  7. Stay up-to-date on current best practices and guidelines in midwifery care.
  8. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and adhere to safety standards to provide the highest quality care to patients.
  9. Serve as a resource and mentor to other healthcare team members, including nurses and support staff.
  10. Demonstrate compassion, empathy, and respect towards patients and their families.
  11. Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to ensure coordinated and individualized care.
  12. Adhere to ethical and legal standards in the provision of midwifery care.
  13. Participate in on-call and weekend duties as required.
  14. Maintain a positive and professional attitude, contributing to a supportive and collaborative work environment.
  15. Uphold the mission, values, and policies of Mercy in all aspects of the job.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Or Master's Degree In Nursing With A Specialization In Midwifery From An Accredited Institution.

  • Current State License As A Certified Nurse-Midwife (Cnm) Or Eligibility For Licensure.

  • Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience Working As A Midwife, Preferably In A Hospital Or Clinical Setting.

  • Strong Knowledge And Understanding Of Evidence-Based Midwifery Practices And Procedures.

  • Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Provide Compassionate And Culturally Sensitive Care To Patients.
