- Develop and implement personalized and evidence-based nutritional care plans for patients based on their medical conditions, dietary needs, and preferences.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure a comprehensive and holistic approach to patient care.
- Conduct nutrition assessments and provide education to patients and their families on proper nutrition and healthy eating habits.
- Monitor and track patient progress and make necessary adjustments to their nutrition plans as needed.
- Stay up-to-date on the latest research and developments in the field of nutrition to provide the most current and effective care to patients.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory standards and guidelines related to nutrition and dietary services.
- Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of all patient interactions and interventions.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to patient care discussions.
- Serve as a resource and consultant for healthcare providers, patients, and their families on nutrition-related issues.
- Provide support and guidance to patients with complex medical conditions, such as diabetes, heart disease, and eating disorders.
- Collaborate with food service staff to ensure patients receive appropriate and nutritious meals according to their dietary needs.
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards in all interactions with patients and their families.
- Continuously assess and improve upon the quality of nutritional care provided to patients.
- Participate in professional development activities and maintain RD certification through continuing education.
Bachelor's Degree In Nutrition Or Related Field: A Clinical Dietitian At Mercy Should Possess A Minimum Of A Bachelor's Degree In Nutrition, Dietetics, Or A Related Field From An Accredited Institution.
Registered Dietitian (Rd) Credential: The Candidate Should Hold A Valid Rd Credential From The Commission On Dietetic Registration (Cdr).
State Licensure: A Clinical Dietitian At Mercy Is Required To Have A Valid State License To Practice As A Dietitian In The State Where The Facility Is Located.
Experience In Clinical Nutrition: The Ideal Candidate Should Have At Least 2-3 Years Of Experience Working In A Clinical Setting, Preferably In A Hospital Or Healthcare Facility.
Knowledge Of Medical Nutrition Therapy: The Clinical Dietitian Should Have A Strong Understanding Of Medical Nutrition Therapy And Be Able To Develop And Implement Nutrition Plans For Patients With Various Medical Conditions.
