To be successful in this role, you must have a Bachelor's degree in Nutrition or a related field, as well as be a registered and licensed Dietitian.   1. Conduct nutrition assessments and create individualized treatment plans for patients based on their specific needs and medical conditions.
  2. Monitor and evaluate patients' progress, making necessary adjustments to treatment plans as needed.
  3. Provide nutrition education and counseling to patients and their families, promoting healthy eating habits and lifestyle changes.
  4. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated and comprehensive patient care.
  5. Stay up-to-date on the latest research and developments in the field of nutrition and incorporate this knowledge into practice.
  6. Adhere to all relevant regulations, policies, and guidelines related to dietetics and patient care.
  7. Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of patient interactions, progress, and treatment plans.
  8. Communicate effectively with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals to ensure understanding and compliance with treatment plans.
  9. Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, contributing nutrition expertise and advocating for patients' needs.
  10. Serve as a resource and mentor to other healthcare professionals, providing guidance and support for nutrition-related issues.
  11. Collaborate with food service staff to ensure patients' dietary needs are met during hospital stays.
  12. Continuously strive to improve patient outcomes and satisfaction through evidence-based practice and quality improvement initiatives.
  13. Adhere to professional and ethical standards in all aspects of the job.
  14. Maintain licensure and registration as a Dietitian, staying current with all necessary continuing education requirements.
  15. Support Mercy's mission and values in all interactions and decisions.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Or Master's Degree In Nutrition, Dietetics, Or A Related Field.

  • Registered Dietitian (Rd) Credential From The Commission On Dietetic Registration (Cdr) Or Eligibility To Take The Rd Exam.

  • Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience As A Clinical Dietitian In A Healthcare Setting.

  • Knowledge Of Medical Nutrition Therapy And Ability To Develop Individualized Nutrition Plans For Patients With Various Medical Conditions.

  • Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills To Effectively Collaborate With Healthcare Team Members, Patients, And Their Families.
