Our Clinic Patient Access team plays a vital role in providing exceptional care to our patients. - Greet and welcome patients and visitors to Mercy Clinic with a friendly and professional attitude.
- Provide exceptional customer service to all patients and visitors, answering any questions or concerns they may have.
- Obtain and accurately enter patient information into electronic medical records, including personal and insurance information.
- Verify insurance coverage and obtain necessary authorizations for services.
- Schedule appointments for patients, ensuring efficient use of clinic resources and availability of providers.
- Communicate with patients and their families regarding payment options, financial assistance, and other related matters.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to all HIPAA regulations.
- Collaborate with other departments within the clinic to ensure a seamless patient experience.
- Stay up-to-date on clinic policies and procedures, as well as insurance and regulatory requirements.
- Participate in training and development opportunities to continuously improve skills and knowledge.
- Handle phone calls and other inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
- Attend team meetings and contribute ideas for improving patient access processes.
- Identify and report any issues or concerns to management in a timely manner.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area to ensure a professional and welcoming environment for patients.
- Demonstrate a commitment to the mission and values of Mercy Clinic.
High School Diploma Or Equivalent: A Minimum Education Requirement For A Clinic Patient Access Job At Mercy Would Be A High School Diploma Or Equivalent. This Shows A Basic Level Of Education And Knowledge That Is Necessary For The Job.
Previous Customer Service Experience: Mercy Values Excellent Customer Service In All Areas Of The Organization, Including Patient Access. Previous Experience In A Customer Service Role, Preferably In A Healthcare Setting, Would Be A Valuable Qualification For This Job.
Knowledge Of Medical Terminology: A Strong Understanding Of Medical Terminology Is Essential For A Clinic Patient Access Job At Mercy. This Knowledge Allows Employees To Communicate Effectively With Patients, Physicians, And Other Healthcare Professionals.
Proficiency With Electronic Medical Record Systems: Mercy Utilizes Electronic Medical Record Systems For Patient Information And Scheduling. Therefore, Proficiency With These Systems Is A Must For A Clinic Patient Access Job.
