Job Description

Welcome to Mercy Clinic! We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our team as a Patient Access Representative. Our Clinic Patient Access team plays a vital role in providing exceptional care to our patients. We are looking for someone who is detail-oriented, organized, and has excellent communication skills to join our dynamic team.   1. Greet and welcome patients and visitors to Mercy Clinic with a friendly and professional attitude.
  2. Provide exceptional customer service to all patients and visitors, answering any questions or concerns they may have.
  3. Obtain and accurately enter patient information into electronic medical records, including personal and insurance information.
  4. Verify insurance coverage and obtain necessary authorizations for services.
  5. Schedule appointments for patients, ensuring efficient use of clinic resources and availability of providers.
  6. Communicate with patients and their families regarding payment options, financial assistance, and other related matters.
  7. Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to all HIPAA regulations.
  8. Collaborate with other departments within the clinic to ensure a seamless patient experience.
  9. Stay up-to-date on clinic policies and procedures, as well as insurance and regulatory requirements.
  10. Participate in training and development opportunities to continuously improve skills and knowledge.
  11. Handle phone calls and other inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
  12. Attend team meetings and contribute ideas for improving patient access processes.
  13. Identify and report any issues or concerns to management in a timely manner.
  14. Maintain a clean and organized work area to ensure a professional and welcoming environment for patients.
  15. Demonstrate a commitment to the mission and values of Mercy Clinic.

Job Qualifications
  • High School Diploma Or Equivalent: A Minimum Education Requirement For A Clinic Patient Access Job At Mercy Would Be A High School Diploma Or Equivalent. This Shows A Basic Level Of Education And Knowledge That Is Necessary For The Job.

  • Proficiency With Electronic Medical Record Systems: Mercy Utilizes Electronic Medical Record Systems For Patient Information And Scheduling. Therefore, Proficiency With These Systems Is A Must For A Clinic Patient Access Job.

  • Ability To Multitask And Work In A Fast-Paced Environment: A Clinic Patient Access Job At Mercy Requires The Ability To Multitask And Work Efficiently In A Fast-Paced Environment. This Includes Managing Multiple Tasks, Such As Scheduling Appointments, Verifying Insurance, And Answering Phone Calls, While Maintaining A High Level Of Accuracy And Attention To Detail.
