- Assess and treat sports-related injuries in pediatric patients with a focus on orthopedic care.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for each patient to aid in their recovery and return to physical activity.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care for patients, including physicians, physical therapists, and coaches.
- Educate patients and their families on injury prevention techniques and proper form and technique for sports-related activities.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records and documentation of patient progress.
- Stay current on advancements and best practices in the field of pediatric athletic training.
- Communicate effectively and compassionately with young patients and their families to ensure understanding and compliance with treatment plans.
- Provide emotional support and encouragement to patients during their recovery process.
- Work closely with coaches and trainers to develop safe and effective training programs for young athletes.
- Adhere to all ethical and legal standards in regards to patient care and confidentiality.
Bachelor's Degree In Athletic Training Or Related Field: A Strong Foundation In Athletic Training Principles And Techniques Is Essential For This Role.
Certification From The Board Of Certification (Boc): A Nationally Recognized Certification Ensures That The Individual Has Met The Necessary Education And Experience Requirements To Be An Athletic Trainer.
Experience Working With Pediatric Patients: Previous Experience Working With Pediatric Patients In An Orthopedic Setting Is Preferred For This Position.
Knowledge Of Common Orthopedic Injuries And Treatments: A Strong Understanding Of Common Orthopedic Injuries And Rehabilitation Protocols Is Crucial In Order To Provide Effective Care To Patients.
Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills: As An Athletic Trainer At An Orthopedic Pediatric Clinic, The Ability To Communicate Effectively With Patients, Parents, Physicians, And Other Healthcare Professionals Is Vital.
