  1. Develop, implement, and maintain environmental, health, and safety policies and procedures in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
  2. Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety protocols.
  3. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and deliver comprehensive training programs on safety and environmental practices.
  4. Monitor and analyze safety data to identify trends, areas for improvement, and develop strategies to prevent incidents and injuries.
  5. Serve as a subject matter expert and resource for employees on safety and environmental regulations, policies, and procedures.
  6. Conduct risk assessments and recommend corrective actions to mitigate potential hazards and ensure a safe working environment.
  7. Stay informed and up-to-date on relevant safety and environmental regulations, industry best practices, and emerging trends.
  8. Coordinate and lead emergency response drills and develop emergency response plans to ensure preparedness in case of an emergency.
  9. Manage and maintain all safety documentation, including incident reports, safety training records, and environmental permits.
  10. Collaborate with regulatory agencies and participate in inspections and audits to ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
  11. Participate in incident investigations, root cause analyses, and develop corrective and preventive action plans to prevent recurrence.
  12. Provide guidance and support to management and employees on safety and environmental matters, including promoting a culture of safety throughout the organization.
  13. Develop and monitor safety performance metrics and provide regular reports to management on safety performance and areas for improvement.
  14. Proactively identify and implement opportunities to improve safety practices and processes to continuously enhance the safety culture at Merck & Co.
  15. Ensure the proper handling, storage, and disposal of hazardous materials and waste in compliance with regulations and company policies.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Occupational Health And Safety, Environmental Science, Or A Related Field.

  • Minimum Of 5 Years Of Experience In Environmental, Health, And Safety Management, Preferably In A Pharmaceutical Or Biotech Industry.

  • In-Depth Knowledge Of Federal, State, And Local Environmental, Health, And Safety Regulations.

  • Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Work Effectively With Cross-Functional Teams And External Stakeholders.

  • Professional Certifications Such As Certified Safety Professional (Csp), Certified Industrial Hygienist (Cih), Or Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (Chmm) Preferred.
