- Effectively communicate project updates, results, and recommendations to senior management and other stakeholders.
- Mentor and train junior scientists and contribute to their professional development.
- Comply with all regulatory and ethical standards in the conduct of preclinical research.
- Participate in cross-functional project meetings and provide scientific input and leadership.
- Manage project timelines and resources effectively to meet project milestones and deliverables.
- Contribute to the preparation of scientific publications and presentations.
- Identify and troubleshoot any technical issues that may arise during the course of the project.

Advanced Degree In A Relevant Scientific Field: A Senior Scientist In Preclinical Development At Merck & Co. Should Hold A Ph.d. Or Equivalent Degree In A Relevant Scientific Discipline Such As Pharmacology, Toxicology, Or Biochemistry.
Extensive Experience In Preclinical Drug Development: Candidates Should Have A Minimum Of 8-10 Years Of Experience In Preclinical Drug Development, Preferably In A Pharmaceutical Or Biotech Industry Setting. This Includes A Thorough Understanding Of The Drug Discovery Process And Experience In Designing And Executing Preclinical Studies.
Strong Analytical And Problem-Solving Skills: A Senior Scientist In Preclinical Development Should Possess Excellent Analytical Skills And Be Able To Interpret Complex Data Sets. They Should Also Be Able To Identify And Troubleshoot Potential Issues In Preclinical Studies And Propose Solutions.
Knowledge Of Regulatory Guidelines And Compliance: Candidates Should Have A Strong Understanding Of Regulatory Guidelines And Requirements For Preclinical Studies, Including Glp And Ich Guidelines. Experience In Interacting With Regulatory Agencies Is Also Preferred.
Leadership And Project Management Experience: As A Senior Role, Candidates Should Have Demonstrated Leadership Skills And Experience In Managing Projects And Teams. They Should Be Able To Effectively Communicate And Collaborate With Cross-Functional Teams, As Well As Manage Timelines And Budgets For Preclinical Development Projects.
