- Perform routine and emergency maintenance on HVAC systems, including troubleshooting, repairs, and replacements.
- Monitor and maintain proper functioning of all HVAC equipment, including boilers, chillers, air handlers, and controls.
- Conduct regular inspections and maintenance of HVAC systems to ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
- Collaborate with other maintenance team members to develop and implement preventative maintenance schedules and procedures.
- Keep accurate records of all maintenance and repairs performed on HVAC systems.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose complex issues with HVAC systems and develop effective solutions.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of the company's products and processes to ensure optimal HVAC functioning.
- Stay up-to-date with industry developments and advancements in HVAC technology and make recommendations for system upgrades and improvements.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures while performing maintenance tasks.
- Communicate effectively with other departments and management to ensure smooth functioning of HVAC systems.
- Train and mentor junior HVAC technicians as needed.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring all tools and equipment are properly stored and maintained.
- Participate in on-call rotation for after-hours and weekend emergency maintenance.
- Collaborate with external contractors and vendors as needed for specialized repairs or installations.
- Comply with all company policies and procedures, including but not limited to attendance, punctuality, and confidentiality.
Extensive Experience And Knowledge In Hvac Systems: A Senior Hvac Technician At Merck & Co. Should Have A Minimum Of 5 Years Of Experience In The Maintenance And Repair Of Hvac Systems In A Commercial Or Industrial Setting. They Should Also Have A Thorough Understanding Of Various Types Of Hvac Equipment And Their Components.
Certification And Training: The Ideal Candidate For This Role Should Hold A Relevant Certification, Such As A Hvac Technician Certification Or A Trade School Diploma In Hvac. They Should Also Have Completed Training Programs On Hvac Maintenance And Repair, And Be Up-To-Date With The Latest Industry Standards And Regulations.
Strong Troubleshooting And Problem-Solving Skills: As A Senior Hvac Technician, The Ability To Quickly Identify And Troubleshoot Complex Issues With Hvac Systems Is Crucial. The Candidate Should Have A Strong Analytical Mindset, A Keen Eye For Detail, And Be Able To Come Up With Effective Solutions To Resolve Problems Efficiently.
Excellent Communication And Leadership Skills: This Role Involves Collaborating With Other Maintenance Technicians And Contractors, As Well As Communicating With Building Occupants And Management. The Candidate Should Have Excellent Communication Skills And Be Able To Lead And Supervise A Team Effectively.
