- Lead and manage a team of medical writers to ensure the timely and accurate delivery of high-quality documents that support the development and commercialization of medical products.
- Establish and maintain standards for medical writing and ensure that all documents adhere to company guidelines and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including clinical, regulatory, and marketing, to gather and review data and ensure the accuracy and consistency of medical information across all documents.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to medical writers, ensuring their professional growth and development.
- Oversee the development and maintenance of document templates, style guides, and other resources to support the medical writing team.
- Ensure all medical writing activities are conducted in compliance with relevant regulations and guidelines, including but not limited to ICH, FDA, and EMA.
- Review and edit documents prepared by medical writers for clarity, scientific accuracy, and appropriateness of language and style.
- Stay current on the latest industry trends, regulatory guidelines, and best practices in medical writing and communicate these updates to the team.
- Manage relationships with external vendors and freelancers, as needed, to support the medical writing function.
- Participate in meetings with key stakeholders, including internal teams and external partners, to discuss medical writing strategies and provide expert input on document development.
- Collaborate with internal teams to develop and implement processes and procedures to improve the efficiency and quality of medical writing activities.
- Represent the Medical Writing department in cross-functional meetings and provide updates on the status of document development and timelines.
- Maintain a high level of professionalism and uphold the company's values and standards in all interactions with internal and external stakeholders.
- Continuously evaluate and implement new technologies and tools to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of medical writing activities.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of departmental goals and objectives, and identify opportunities for process improvement.
Advanced Degree In A Relevant Field (E.g. Phd, Md) With A Strong Understanding Of Scientific Principles And Medical Terminology.
Minimum Of 10 Years Of Experience In Medical Writing, Preferably In A Pharmaceutical Or Biotechnology Company.
Proven Track Record Of Successfully Leading And Managing A Team Of Medical Writers.
Extensive Knowledge Of Global Regulatory Requirements And Guidelines For Clinical Trial Documentation And Submissions.
Excellent Written And Verbal Communication Skills, With The Ability To Effectively Present Complex Scientific Information To A Variety Of Audiences.
