- Conduct nutrition assessments for WIC participants and develop personalized nutrition plans based on their needs and goals.
- Educate individuals and families on the importance of healthy eating habits and provide guidance on how to incorporate nutritious foods into their diets.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure the integration of nutrition care into overall patient treatment plans.
- Monitor and track the progress of WIC participants, provide ongoing support and make necessary adjustments to their nutrition plans.
- Conduct group nutrition education sessions to promote healthy eating and address common nutrition concerns.
- Stay up-to-date on the latest nutrition research and recommendations to provide evidence-based nutrition counseling.
- Maintain accurate and confidential records of all patient interactions and nutrition interventions.
- Work with community organizations to develop and implement nutrition-related programs and initiatives.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to the development of nutrition-related policies and procedures.
- Serve as a resource and point of contact for nutrition-related inquiries from patients, families, and colleagues.
- Continuously assess and improve the effectiveness of nutrition interventions and programs.
- Adhere to all hospital and WIC program regulations and guidelines.
- Attend relevant training and professional development opportunities to enhance job knowledge and skills.
- Foster a positive and welcoming environment for WIC participants and their families.
- Act as an advocate for WIC and promote the program's services to the community.
Registered Dietitian (Rd) Credential From The Commission On Dietetic Registration (Cdr).
A Bachelor's Degree In Nutrition, Dietetics, Or A Related Field From An Accredited University Or College.
Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience In Providing Nutrition Counseling And Education To Low-Income Families And/Or Pregnant And Postpartum Women.
Knowledge Of And Experience In Implementing The Wic Program, Including Understanding Of Federal And State Regulations.
Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Work Effectively With A Diverse Population And Collaborate With A Multidisciplinary Team.
