
Surgical Technologist
The Massachusetts General Hospital is seeking a dynamic and experienced Surgical Technologist to join our team. We are looking for an individual with excellent knowledge of surgical procedures and techniques, as well as the ability to provide quality patient care. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, organized, and have excellent interpersonal and communication skills.We require a minimum of an associate degree in surgical technology, with certification from the Liaison Council on Certification for the Surgical Technologist (LCC-ST). Previous experience in a hospital or surgical setting is preferred. Responsibilities:
• Prepare operating room for surgery by ensuring all necessary instruments and supplies are available.
• Assist the surgical team in prepping, positioning, and draping patients, as well as passing instruments and supplies during surgery.
• Monitor patient’s vital signs and alert the surgical team of any changes.
• Maintain a sterile environment throughout the course of each procedure.
• Ensure all instruments and supplies are properly sterilized and stored.
• Monitor inventory of surgical supplies and order more as needed.
• Document all relevant patient information and procedure notes.
• Provide pre- and post-operative assistance to patients.
• Adhere to all safety and infection control procedures.
• Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor with patients and staff.
