  1. Conduct comprehensive eye exams and diagnose visual problems accurately for patients of all ages
  2. Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for each patient based on their specific needs and conditions
  3. Prescribe and fit eyeglasses, contact lenses, and other visual aids as necessary
  4. Monitor and manage patients with chronic eye conditions, such as glaucoma or cataracts
  5. Educate patients on proper eye care and prevention of eye diseases
  6. Collaborate and communicate effectively with other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated and comprehensive care for patients
  7. Stay up-to-date on current trends and advancements in optometry and incorporate them into practice
  8. Maintain accurate and thorough patient records and documentation
  9. Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and ethical standards in the field of optometry
  10. Provide exceptional customer service and patient satisfaction by creating a welcoming and comfortable environment for patients
  11. Act as a brand ambassador for Massachusetts General Hospital by upholding its reputation for excellence in healthcare.

Job Qualifications
  • Current State License To Practice Optometry In Massachusetts.

  • Doctor Of Optometry (Od) Degree From An Accredited Institution.

  • Minimum Of 2 Years Of Clinical Experience As An Optometrist.

  • Strong Knowledge Of Ocular Diseases And Conditions, As Well As Current Optometric Treatments And Procedures.

  • Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Effectively Collaborate With Other Healthcare Professionals.
