Job Description

We are looking for a highly motivated individual to join the Optometry Department at Massachusetts General Hospital as a Staff Optometrist. In this role, you will provide top-notch, comprehensive care to patients of all ages in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.The ideal candidate should have a Doctorate of Optometry from an accredited school, as well as an active, unrestricted Massachusetts Optometry license. You should possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills and be a passionate advocate of patient-focused care. The ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, work independently and collaborate with a diverse team of professionals is also essential.You’ll join a highly respected team of healthcare professionals dedicated to providing excellent care to our patients. Responsibilities:

  1. Perform comprehensive optometric care, including routine eye exams, contact lens fits, and management of ocular diseases
  2. Prescribe corrective lenses and medications as needed
  3. Collaborate with other professionals and departments to provide comprehensive patient care
  4. Educate patients on proper eye care and vision health
  5. Maintain up-to-date patient records and practice standards
  6. Maintain a positive and professional demeanor in all interactions with patients
  7. Remain up-to-date on the latest optometric trends and treatments
  8. Assist with administrative tasks as needed
