- Coordinate and manage the surgical process for patients, ensuring a seamless and efficient experience.
- Schedule surgeries, pre-operative appointments, and post-operative follow ups in a timely and organized manner.
- Collaborate with surgical team members, including physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals, to ensure smooth communication and coordination of patient care.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records and documentation of patient information, surgical procedures, and appointments.
- Serve as the main point of contact for patients and their families, providing compassionate and helpful support throughout the surgical process.
- Educate patients on pre-operative and post-operative instructions, including medication management, dietary restrictions, and follow-up care.
- Ensure all necessary equipment and supplies are available for surgical procedures and coordinate with appropriate departments for any special needs or requests.
- Communicate with insurance companies and obtain necessary authorizations for surgical procedures.
- Provide excellent customer service and address any patient concerns or questions in a timely and professional manner.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of patient information and adhere to all HIPAA regulations.
- Stay current on medical and surgical procedures, protocols, and regulations to ensure the highest level of patient care.
- Assist with administrative tasks such as scheduling meetings, maintaining office supplies, and managing patient files.
- Collaborate with other members of the healthcare team to identify and implement process improvements to enhance patient care and satisfaction.
- Adhere to hospital policies and procedures, as well as state and federal regulations, to ensure compliance and patient safety.
- Participate in training and professional development opportunities to continuously improve skills and knowledge in surgical coordination.
Minimum Of 3-5 Years Of Experience In A Surgical Or Medical Setting, Preferably As A Practice Assistant Or Surgical Coordinator.
Extensive Knowledge Of Surgical Procedures, Medical Terminology, And Insurance Processes.
Excellent Organizational And Time-Management Skills, With The Ability To Manage Multiple Tasks And Prioritize Effectively.
Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Interact Professionally With Patients, Healthcare Providers, And Insurance Representatives.
Proficiency In Electronic Medical Records And Scheduling Systems, As Well As Experience With Microsoft Office And Other Common Computer Programs.
