- Safely operate the shuttle bus, following all traffic laws and regulations, to transport patients, staff, and visitors to and from designated locations within the hospital campus.
- Maintain a clean and well-maintained shuttle bus at all times, including performing routine inspections and reporting any maintenance or repair needs.
- Assist passengers with boarding and disembarking the shuttle bus, including those with mobility challenges or special needs.
- Communicate effectively with passengers, providing information and answering any questions or concerns they may have.
- Keep accurate records of daily trips, including passenger counts and any incidents or delays.
- Follow established routes and schedules, while also being flexible to accommodate any unexpected changes or delays.
- Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures, including those related to patient confidentiality and safety.
- Provide exceptional customer service, ensuring a positive experience for all passengers.
- Work collaboratively with other transportation team members to ensure efficient and timely services.
- Attend regular safety and training sessions to maintain knowledge of driving regulations and best practices.
- Report any safety hazards or concerns to the transportation supervisor or appropriate hospital personnel.
- Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor at all times, representing the hospital in a positive manner.
- Perform any other duties or responsibilities as assigned by the transportation supervisor or hospital administration.
Valid Commercial Driver's License (Cdl): A Shuttle Bus Driver At Massachusetts General Hospital Must Possess A Valid Cdl With A Passenger Endorsement, Allowing Them To Operate A Vehicle With A Capacity Of 16 Or More Passengers.
Clean Driving Record: Candidates For This Job Must Have A Clean Driving Record, With No History Of Accidents Or Traffic Violations. This Ensures The Safety Of Our Patients, Visitors, And Staff While Being Transported On The Shuttle Bus.
Experience In Passenger Transportation: Previous Experience In Passenger Transportation Is Preferred For This Role. This Includes Driving Shuttle Buses, Taxis, Or Other Commercial Vehicles, And Providing Excellent Customer Service To Passengers.
Knowledge Of Safety Regulations: A Shuttle Bus Driver At Massachusetts General Hospital Must Have A Thorough Understanding Of Safety Regulations And Protocols For Operating A Commercial Vehicle. This Includes Knowledge Of Emergency Procedures, Vehicle Maintenance, And Safe Driving Practices.
Customer Service Skills: As A Shuttle Bus Driver, You Will Interact With Patients, Visitors, And Staff On A Daily Basis. Strong Customer Service Skills Are Essential For This Role, Including The Ability To Communicate Effectively, Handle Difficult Situations, And Provide A Positive Experience For Passengers.
