- Administer Radiation Therapy Treatments: The Senior Radiation Therapist will be responsible for administering radiation therapy treatments to patients in a safe and effective manner.
- Develop Treatment Plans: Using advanced knowledge and skills in radiation therapy, the Senior Radiation Therapist will develop individualized treatment plans for each patient based on their specific condition and needs.
- Monitor Patients: The Senior Radiation Therapist will closely monitor patients during treatment sessions to ensure proper positioning and accurate delivery of radiation.
- Maintain Equipment: It will be the responsibility of the Senior Radiation Therapist to maintain and calibrate all radiation therapy equipment to ensure it is functioning properly and safely.
- Collaborate with Multidisciplinary Team: This position will require close collaboration with other healthcare professionals, including physicians, nurses, and physicists, to ensure optimal patient care and treatment outcomes.
- Educate Patients: The Senior Radiation Therapist will educate patients on the treatment process and any potential side effects, as well as provide emotional support and answer any questions they may have.
- Keep Accurate Records: Accurate documentation of treatment plans, patient progress, and any adverse reactions or side effects will be the responsibility of the Senior Radiation Therapist.
- Stay Current on Industry Developments: The Senior Radiation Therapist will stay up-to-date on the latest advancements and best practices in radiation therapy to continuously improve patient care and treatment.
- Train and Mentor Staff: As a senior member of the team, the Senior Radiation Therapist will play a key role in training and mentoring new and junior staff members.
- Adhere to Safety Protocols: The Senior Radiation Therapist will follow all safety protocols and regulations to protect patients, staff, and themselves from any potential hazards associated with radiation therapy.
Minimum Of 5 Years Of Experience As A Radiation Therapist, With At Least 2 Years In A Senior Or Leadership Role.
Current Certification By The American Registry Of Radiologic Technologists (Arrt) In Radiation Therapy.
In-Depth Knowledge And Experience With Advanced Radiation Therapy Techniques, Such As Intensity-Modulated Radiation Therapy (Imrt) And Stereotactic Body Radiation Therapy (Sbrt).
Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Effectively Lead And Mentor A Team Of Radiation Therapists.
Experience Working With A Diverse Patient Population And Ability To Provide Compassionate Care In A Fast-Paced Environment.
