Job Description

The Massachusetts General Hospital is seeking an experienced and qualified Senior Medical Laboratory Technologist to join its team. This position requires a high degree of technical proficiency and knowledge of the medical laboratory field. It is a unique opportunity to work in a world-renowned healthcare facility and contribute to providing the highest quality of patient care.To be successful in this role, we are looking for an individual with a minimum of 5 years of experience in a clinical laboratory, a bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology or a related field, and a certification as a Medical Technologist (MT). You must be committed to patient safety and quality assurance, have excellent communication skills, and be a team player. You must also be highly organized, able to prioritize tasks, and possess sound judgment and analytical skills. The successful candidate must be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, be detail-oriented, and able to handle diverse tasks.

Responsibilities:

  1. Oversee clinical laboratory operations and ensure that all procedures are performed correctly and in accordance with applicable regulations.
  2. Monitor and review test results for accuracy and completeness.
  3. Monitor and review laboratory quality control procedures and results.
  4. Train and mentor junior staff members.
  5. Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and standards.
  6. Develop and implement laboratory policies and procedures.
  7. Maintain records of laboratory operations and results.
  8. Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.
  9. Communicate effectively with laboratory staff, physicians, and other healthcare professionals.
  10. Participate in laboratory research and development.
