Job Description

Massachusetts General Hospital is seeking an experienced Senior Clinical Engineer with the technical and organizational skills to help support and maintain the hospital's medical equipment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in clinical engineering and experience in a healthcare environment. The Senior Clinical Engineer will be responsible for providing technical support, identifying solutions, and implementing processes to ensure the safe and effective use of medical equipment.The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in biomedical engineering or a related field, 5+ years of experience in clinical engineering, and a proven record of success in a healthcare setting. Additionally, the successful candidate will have a customer-centric attitude, excellent communication skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with other teams.

Responsibilities:

  1. Ensure that medical equipment is properly maintained and functioning correctly.
  2. Collaborate with other teams to identify and implement solutions that will ensure the safe and effective use of medical equipment.
  3. Provide technical support and troubleshoot clinical engineering issues.
  4. Develop and implement processes related to clinical engineering.
  5. Work closely with other departments to ensure compliance with safety regulations and best practices.
  6. Maintain records and create reports related to the installation, maintenance, and use of medical equipment.
  7. Monitor the performance of medical equipment and make recommendations for improvement.
  8. Participate in staff training programs and provide guidance to other clinical engineers.
  9. Stay up-to-date on new technologies and best practices in the field of clinical engineering.
  10. Provide excellent customer service and foster positive relationships with patients and staff.
