Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated, experienced Senior Analyst Payer Strategy and Contracting to join the Revenue Cycle Department at Massachusetts General Hospital. This individual will be responsible for leading and managing the contracting process with payers, as well as providing strategic insights to ensure maximum reimbursement for services provided.The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or a related field, as well as a minimum of 5 years of healthcare reimbursement and/or contracting experience. In addition, the successful candidate must possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Responsibilities:

  1. Lead and manage the contracting process with payers to ensure maximum reimbursement for services provided.
  2. Analyze and evaluate payer contracts to identify areas for improvement and ensure compliance.
  3. Negotiate with payers to secure favorable contract terms.
  4. Monitor payer performance and provide reports with insights to optimize reimbursement.
  5. Develop and implement strategies to improve payment rates and increase collections.
  6. Research and analyze reimbursement trends and provide recommendations for improvement.
  7. Educate staff on payer policies and procedures.
  8. Monitor changes in the reimbursement landscape and provide updates to management.
  9. Work closely with the Revenue Cycle team to ensure accurate coding and billing processes.
  10. Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including payers, providers, and staff.
